Restaurants

Joe's Inn, The Fan, is a richmond staple with large plates and a good brunch.

Roastology and Whisk are our two favorite coffee shops with great bakery items.

Tazzo Kitchen has mutliple locations with something for everyone.

Craving a burger and fries? Beauvine Burger Concept or for my JMU fans, Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint.

Jardin, in The Fan, is our favorite spot for a glass of wine on a sunny day!

Carytown

Carytown is a fun shopping, dining, and entertainment area. With a focus on small, locally-owned businesses and boutiques. Heads up! It can get crowded on weekends and street parking can be a few blocks away.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

The VMFA is a beautiful, free museum with traveling pay exhibits. They also have a casual dining area and you can sit outside on the lawn for some people watching or a picnic.

Browns Island and Belle Isle

Belle Isle is a preserved park island downtown. It's a great place to see the river, take pretty pictures, and get in a short hike. This part of the James River Park System can be reached by pedestrian footbridge from Tredegar St. on the north shore.

Maymont

Maymont is a large free outdoor park and garden. Lots of walking but very fun way to see some wildlife, plants, and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy nature.
